Flight Training
Rugged Video offers a complete recording system for flight training. Flight training systems can be provided as components or complete systems with: recorder(s), cameras, mounts, and cabling. Having video to refer to when debriefing or for the student to watch/review before their next lesson can help with knowledge retention and help produce a skilled pilot efficiently.
Picture-in-Picture
By using the Rugged Video Multiplexer, you can capture multiple angles of the training session all at once on one file. A common training set up would be using two cameras; one outside view and one either pointing at the student or over the student’s shoulder to see the inputs that they are doing during the flight. The ability to capture multiple angles can assist with the instruction post flight.
Other Camera Options
In addition to connecting to most FLIR and Gimbal cameras, Rugged Video offers a line of small, rugged HD cameras to add another view to the system. The addition of a cockpit camera can add to the functionality as a training or monitoring tool. Adapter cables for nearly any input type can be provided for ease of installation.
Capture
Systems can be configured to start recording upon power up or via command of the record switch. Video and GPS data are stored to USB or SD media. Once on the ground, media can be removed as soon as the recording has stopped without having to power down the system.
Review
Video and GPS data are stored in standard formats for playback on any PC or MAC. With the addition of LineVision Geospatial software, 3D flight path information can be viewed in synchronous with multiple channels of video.
