The Smallest Low-Profile 1080p60 Camera Available

The HD30 is the Smallest HD bullet camera on the market at 29.8mm (1.17″) square, and just 18.6mm(0.73″) long (26.7mm with lens).  The HD30 features a 2.1 megapixel Sony Starvis CMOS sensor and powerful DSP producing impressive results from such a small camera.

High Performance

The HD30 offers full 1080p60 HD with a latest generation Eyenix DSP featuring; Wide Dynamic Range, 2D and 3D digital noise reduction, and an advanced automatic gain control algorythm, shooting great video out-of-the-box in nearly any lighting situation.  Video is output via the SMPTE 424M 3G-SDI or  292M HD-SDI standards.

Rugged & Embeddable

Housed in a cast aluminum enclosure the HD30 easily fits into the tightest spaces.  Its extra low profile makes it ideal for mounting behind panels or embedding in existing enclosures for a seamless OEM look.

Flexible

A powerful DSP allows users to adjust settings such as; resolution and frame rate, shutter speed, white balance, back-light compensation, wide dynamic range, gain level, noise reduction, and flip, mirror, or rotate the image.  A wide range of standard M12(S-mount) lenses allows users to choose nearly any field of view.

 Proven

The HD30 electronics are based on the HD19 imaging plaform, which has has logged tens of thousands of flight hours as a cockpit camera, helicopter camera, or aerial patrol camera and is currently in use in thousands of helicopters and fixed wing aircraft including:

  • Eurocopter EC130 / Airbus H130

Configuration - Lenses & Cabling

The HD30 has the option for different cable configurations and different lens options.

Cable Type

The HD30 camera connectors are a snap-lock MMCX coaxial connector and a tab-lock wire housing.  The cabling can breakout to a variety of different connector options:

Standard Pigtail:  RV-CAM-HD19-(_._mm)

HD19_STD2CONN_lrg

The standard pigtail includes a cable that extends from the back of the camera, to a junction with built-in menu control and then to connections.  The cable extends 17.5″ from the back of the camera to the junction with individual breakouts extending another 8″.  Breakouts include: HD Video (BNC), NTSC/PAL Video (BNC), and Power (2.1×5.5mm Barrel).

HRS Power Pigtail(for Rugged Video Systems): RV-CAM-HD19-HP-(_._mm)

HD19_HRSCONN_lrg

The HRS pigtail includes a cable that extends from the back of the camera, to a junction with built-in menu control and then to connections.  The cable extends 17.5″ from the back of the camera to the junction with individual breakouts extending another 8″.  Breakouts include: HD Video (BNC), NTSC/PAL Video (BNC), and Power (HRS LF07WBJ-6P).

HRS Integrated Pigtail Connector (for Rugged Video Systems): RV-CAM-HD19-IP-(_._mm)

The integrated pigtail option features a 6-pin Hirose LF series connector built directly into the back of the camera.  This connector includes pins for: HD Video, NTSC/PAL, Joystick OSD Control, and Power.  By combining all signals into one connector, these cameras can be connected with a single cable for both power and video.  This camera can be used with specialty Rugged Video systems wired for a single cable, or with the use of a breakout cable with virtually any video equipment.  The RV-CAM-HD19-IP also ships with a breakout cable allowing for setup, testing, and joystick control for setting adjustments.

Available Mounts

A number of other off-the-shelf mounting options are available for the HD30, each using the standard 1/4″-20 stud.

Big Mite – is a cast aluminum collar, machined ball, and spud. The spud can be bolted directly to a solid surface using a #8 to 1/4″ flat machine screw.  The collar is then clamped to the spud and locks the ball in place.  The Big Mite is a larger version of the MiniMite designed to support larger cameras in high vibration environments. Mini Mite – is a cast aluminum collar, machined ball, spud, and extension with a flat base option. The spud can be bolted directly to a solid surface using a #4 to #10 flat machine screw.  The collar is then clamped to the spud and locks the ball in place.  Alternatively the spud can be affixed to the flat base which can be attached to a solid surface using 4 x #4 or #6 screws.  The Mini Mite is designed for smaller cameras like the HD29, HD19, HD21E, or HD30. Ultra-Clamp Mount – is a cast aluminum frame with a poly-carbonate injection molded adjustment attachment.  This mount is clamped to a secure bar or flat with a hand screw.  Additionally the top may be removed and mounted directly to any surface using a 1/4″-20 screw.  This mount can hold any size Rugged Video camera. Ultra Clamp Mount with Adjuster Arm Ultra Clamp Mount with Adjuster Arm
Locking Suction Mount – Is an injection molded poly-carbonate mount with the same aluminum collar and ball as the Big Mite.  The suction mount features a wide cup that can attach to any smooth, hard, clean surface.  The suction cup is secured with a lever that creates additional vacuum within the cup.  This mount can hold any Rugged Video camera, but should only be used inside the cockpit for portable installations.  The mount is secured with air-pressure and thus should be tethered to avoid injury should a change in pressure occur, or the mount was to lose pressure. 2.1″ Pedestal Mount – is a cast aluminum collar, machined ball, and formed steel flat base with overall height of 2.1″. The base can be attached directly to a solid surface using 3 x #4 screws.  The ball is secured with friction by using a winged screw.  The pedestal is designed for smaller cameras like the HD29, HD19, HD21E, or HD30.
